COL Chester "Trip" Buckenmaier has been appointed by the Editorial Board of the journal Pain Medicine, the official publication of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the International Spine Intervention Society and the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. He will serve as a sectional editor for a new section aimed at acute pain medicine and regional anesthesia.
More information on the journal is available on the publication's website at http://www.wiley.com/bw/journal.asp?ref=1526-2375.
The editors are accepting applications for articles to be published in Pain Medicine. They are particularly interested in articles that discuss treating patients with acute pain conditions. Although the journal is interested in publishing relevant translational research, the new section will emphasize applying research, techniques and inventions to practical, everyday patient care.
Editors are specifically looking for manuscripts on acute pain matters, including regional anesthesia techniques and innovations for pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. These include, but are not limited to, peri-operative pain, pain associate with trauma, cancer and terminal care to name a few.
